Explore the Berber culture and enjoy the extraordinary landscapes of southern Morocco through this unforgettable experience.
During 5 days, you will be able to discover the lifestyle of the locals and Moroccan traditions, luggage will be transported on the mules and overnight stays will be spent outdoors under the tents, or in local villages.

Tour Program

After a hearty breakfast, we begin loading the mules, and we meet our guide for the next five days. Starting from the Gîte Tamaloute, we will go through the splendid rose gardens of the region through the local villages surrounded by the ancient Kasbahs to reach the valley of the Thousand Kasbahs where we will visit a very big and old Kasbah to discover the magnificent Berber architecture of these buildings.

Lunch (picnic) is provided on the sides of the river surrounded by the rose gardens. We continue the adventure towards the agouti gorges, on the road we will find the Pink Laurel, a very rare small tree with beautiful roses which flower splendidly especially during the month of May. Finally we arrive at the village of Alemdoun where we will spend the night with local people, an experience that will allow you to explore the culture of the region more closely.

Departing from the village of Alemdoun, today we are taking altitude in going up about 500 m towards Amskar village, passing by the plateau of Asselda, this plateau is characterised by the presence of a beautiful lake that is filled by seasonal rainfall, this plateau is surrounded by beautiful gardens, and the nomads takes it as a place to live during the spring. Then we go higher to reach the upper water source. nomads use it as the main source of water for their daily needs. A lunch break is organised with the nomads which allows you to discover their lifestyle and culture.
Descent towards the village of Amskar along a road full of fascinating landscapes to spend the night with the locals.

18 to 20 km of walking.

This day we climb even higher on our way up to the Tizi n’Aït Ahmed mountain, about 3500m, Then we go down to the valley of M’goun which we cross entirely to arrive at Mourabitin, a set of small grouped villages where the inhabitants live out of their farming activities.
We will spend the night at their place, an opportunity to discover more about the lifestyle of these locals.

18 to 20 Km of walking.

Descent of the valley of Mgoun, we cross the rivers surrounded by splendid gardens, then we arrive at the M’goun gorges where we can stop for a period of 2h30 in order to discover the magical place.
We continue our walk towards the Tighanimine village to spend the night.

Back towards Bouteghrar, the village where our gîte is located, we will descend the M’goun, passing by the berber villages.
A Lunch break is provided by the riverside to admire the amazing gardens.
Then we will continue our walk to the gîte.
